How are the underwear composted? Everything you send will be sorted, sanitized and added composted by our partner in southern California.
What are the benefits of composting? Your KENT briefs are made entirely from the earth's plant-based materials and now will return to earth. They will help grow new plants that clean our air, sequester carbon from the atmosphere and help reverse climate change. Learn more here.
What happens to the composted underwear? In approximately 90 days, your briefs will turn into nutrient-rich soil and be used to help grow new plants and crops .
Why we can't accept other underwear brands? Spandex (because the fiber ends up coating the shredder) and Lycra (because it is a concentrated fiber made of polyether-polyurea copolymer).
Can I compost my KENT briefs at home? Absolutely! Simply cut up your washed KENT briefs and pop into your compost. While we can't guarantee how long it will take - as everyone's compost temperature and microbiome composition differs - they will fully revert back into soil. See our tutorial on how to Plant Your Pants here or our beginner's guide to composting here.
Can I receive credit for composting briefs at home? Yes! Please send a photo of your KENT briefs going into the compost to hello@wearkent.com and we'll send your store credit.
